CNC without machining centre
- There are machining centres and hand tools.
- In between there is now our servo construction kit with the pathfinder.
- The scout turns a power tool into a smart power tool.
- With the Pathfinder, we are focussing more on commercial applications.
- That is why we Powerful milling machines in. And preferably those that the user already has.
- That is why we use No optical measuring systemswhich are susceptible to dust or swarf without optimum top extraction. If an optical path marking is covered by swarf or dust, an optical system is disrupted. A magnetic system simply pushes the chips away.
- We work with our development capacity to realise our good ideas. If you have a special request, we look forward to hearing from you: Tel: 05741 3012080, christoph.hessler@c-hessler.de
- We currently offer purely passively managed variants.

What does servo kit stand for?
- This makes measuring systems, computers, tablet computers and CAD files directly usable for hand tools, e.g. as a tool navigator with pathfinder software.
- The elements build on each other, hence the name modular system.
- We try to use components that are already known in the workshops and joineries. Our motto: Make more of what you already have or know.

Tool navigator for marking, measuring and editing
Until now, CNC technology and traditional, hand-held machining tools have been used for this purpose. The tool navigation system takes a new approach. It combines the flexibility of traditional working methods with elements from CNC technology. This enables precise and speedy work for hand-guided machining and thus opens up new scope for design.
The tool navigator is part of the SERVO modular system from Dr Christoph Heßler Maschinensysteme. It consists of software and a commercially available tablet computer, currently preferably with a Windows operating system.
To mark out and edit a contour, a CAD file is loaded onto the tablet via USB stick or WLAN. The contour or drill centres can then be marked or grained by hand on a workpiece using a drawing or marking pen. To ensure that this can be done precisely, the working area on the tablet can be enlarged and adapted to individual requirements.

In the "Pathfinder" configuration, the operator guides his hand-held router via the tablet computer screen. When milling a contour, the working area can be enlarged so that the operator can expand their skills and work as if using a magnifying glass.
The working method is as follows, for example:
- Design the contour on the computer using a drawing programme
- Save in a suitable format
- Transfer to the computer
- Input of the tool diameter
- Coupling of the machine, for example via a copying ring for manual routers
- Positioning and clamping the plate on the work area
- Setting the zero point by sliding against stops and zeros
- Handling the router in the usual way, all the intelligence of the production technology remains with the operator
- After completion, remove the router by lifting it off for other applications.
The "Pathfinder" expansion stage can be supplied with or without a manual router. Only a suitable copying ring is required for existing routers. The pathfinder is mobile and can be quickly set up on any workbench top.
The concept of the SERVO modular system, which is protected by industrial property rights, also offers space for future motorised support. The purely hand-guided expansion stages are currently being offered.

It is also possible to position a circle or rectangle on a workpiece according to predefined distances without a previously created CAD file and then mark it or process it directly.
In measuring mode, a measuring pen or crosshair is used to trace individually defined points and save them as coordinates. The points can be saved individually or as paths so that they can be processed in an external CAD system or on a machining centre.
The measuring system is provided as part of the SERVO modular system, including microprocessor-based processing. In principle, other measuring systems can also be used.
