Hand guided machines

The feed of the edge milling machine, router and corner former is carried out by the operator by means of manual guidance. This is why we speak of hand-guided machines. In woodworking and metalworking, the carpenter, joiner or metalworker has excellent feedback from the cutting because of the hand feed. The feed rate of the power tools or air tools directly affects chip formation and milling results. Hand guidance is facilitated by a speed setting or speed control.
