The Universal edge milling machine is the only edge milling machine we know of that offers the combination of longitudinal edge and corner processing in one table.
For longitudinal edge machining, it has a large support plate that ensures very good stability when pushing forward. The cutter infeed is located centrally under the drive in the clamping adapter and can be adjusted very sensitively by turning the drive.
Corner machining can be performed safely and without shaking thanks to a horizontal fence with chip protection and a height-adjustable plate arranged around the cutter.

Application area
The MZ 100 90F 90° universal machine can be used to remove both end and longitudinal edge protrusions. For rounded longitudinal edges, the machine also rounds the remnant corners.
The reversible Heßler fence provides a shake-free guidance during corner rounding and has a chip and grip protection. With the Vario support, the support geometry is optimally adapted to the respective work support.

Heßler attack
The Heßler stop is located in the handle-like holder during longitudinal edge processing (see next picture below). Thus, it is always at hand when changing over to corner machining. The large handle, in conjunction with the large workpiece support, ensures secure guidance.
Longitudinal edge machining can be performed with the edge protruding. The edge does not have to be milled flush beforehand.
For corner machining, the Heßler stop is pulled out of the handle vertically upwards and reinserted from the support side. The chip and grip guard is brought up to the workpiece support. It extends over the cutter into the suction adapter. The corner former can now be rotated around the axis of the Heßler stop.
The drive unit is held securely in the horizontal position by the slidable pressing of the Heßler stop onto the top of the workpiece. When the Heßler stop slides on the top of the workpiece, the cutter's thrust bearing is pressed against the workpiece and the edge protrusion is cleanly removed.
Vario support
The Vario support offers another unique selling point.
The Vario support combines in one machine what previously required two machines or one machine with two attachments: a workpiece support with a V-shaped boundary to accommodate an edge protrusion during longitudinal edge milling and a closed plate for corner machining. With the Vario support, the cutter can no longer be pressed into the workpiece during corner milling.
The Vario support consists of the white collar-like support element, the adjustment collar, around the milling cutter. The adjustment collar can be adjusted to the level of the large support plate in the direction of the tool axis. This increases the workpiece support surface. It can also be adjusted back again.
Operation takes place on the side of the handle via two sliding elements.
Sensitive cutter infeed
The cutter is advanced in the direction of the axis by turning the vertical drive unit. Nevertheless, the drive unit is fixed absolutely backlash-free via the orange clamping lever. It is not possible to touch the cutter with fingers on the drive side in any operating state. This means safety.
Adjustment of the switch position
The position of the on/off switch can be changed by 4×90° at each infeed position, so that convenient switching on/off is possible. If the drive unit is removed with the cutter, the infeed position is maintained very accurately.
Thrust bearing brake
The integrated brake brakes the thrust bearing before it comes into contact with the workpiece. There are no marks or traces of braking. The brake is designed so that the thrust bearing can roll without leaving marks after contact with the workpiece.
Solid construction
The corner former is manufactured without metallic castings except for the drive unit. Solid materials are used, which are machined by turning, milling, or other cutting processes. Nevertheless, the weight is only about 2.5 kg.
